Today, the mobile phone is one of our most personal items. Always in our bag or in our pocket. We have only to reach for it, it’s there.
Now with built-in cameras, mobile phones can capture a series of photos and videos shot on the fly.
The London attacks of July 2005 showed the scope of this new phenomenon, where cell phone videos witnessed the events and served as evidence. These ultra-pixellated images are also broadcast on television. Reality thus revealed becomes almost indecent, always closer to the event.
Whereas nothing guarantees the authenticity of these mobile phone video images.
