Life without L G B T Q
With "Life without L G B T Q", you see life through rose-colored glasses and stars ★!
In 2025, the LGBTQ community faces growing challenges in the United States and around the world. To make tangible what a world without this community would look like, the installation Life without L G B T Q offers a disturbing experience: imagining life without the letters L, G, B, T, and Q.
The work consists of two visual elements accompanied by a cathode ray tube screen that displays transformed web pages. Thanks to the “Life without L G B T Q” browser extension, all occurrences of the letters L, G, B, T, and Q disappear from web content, replaced by pink stars. This absence reveals the ubiquity and importance of these letters in our digital daily lives, a powerful metaphor for what a world without the diversity they represent would be like.
